Miss Merron
AVV Calisthenics

I started Calisthenics at the age of 3 and was a member of Ridgehaven Calisthenics Club for 23 years, competing in every age section from Tinies through to Seniors at Champ/A Grade level. During those years, I competed in many Graceful Girl and Solo competitions as well as being selected in the SA Champ Team in Juniors, Inters & Seniors.

I was fortunate enough to have been taught by some amazing coaches who I learnt so much from and whose knowledge I’ve imparted on my students. I began coaching  in 2002, initially with Ridgehaven Tinies, Sub-Juniors as well as many Graceful Girls, Solos & Duos until “retiring” from Calisthenics in 2009.

In 2012, I joined the AVV Millennium Senior Team with my sister, Stefanie, and it was a blast, winning the Division 1 Aggregate.  In 2015, I became a “Cali Mum” when my daughter Abbey started Tinies at AVV, and from 2016 to 2018, I competed in the successful AVV Masters Team at the CASA & Pan Pacific Masters Games Competitions. After being involved in calisthenics once again, it was hard not to re-enter the world of coaching and since 2018, I have taught our beautiful Competitive Tinies. I began my ACF Examiner Traineeship in 2020 and I am thoroughly enjoying this new venture in my calisthenics journey.

Calisthenics has played a special part in my life & I continue to be involved because of the friends I make along the way and the passion I can share with the next generation. I have always believed that calisthenics gives girls so many wonderful attributes that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. Watching our AVV girls develop into beautiful, confident young ladies all whilst having fun, being active and making lifelong friends is what drives me to continue in our beautiful sport.
When I’m not at calisthenics I am busy at my full time Executive Assistant job and spending time with my wonderful husband, daughter and son.
